What’s the difference between a goal and a dream?

Don’t confuse a goal and a dream. Dreams occupy your mind and heart. Goals take over your reality.

Too many confuse a dream and a goal. They seek to achieve a dream. However, dreams can’t be achieved. They can only be realized. You realize your dreams by creating goals around each one of your dreams, and then pursue each goal by taking action.

I have always been one to take action – even when I probably should have remained silent. Here is how we took Action in August – and it took a lot of action!

August 10th

A derecho came through the communities we live and work. Thankfully, the only damage we had to the business was a tree branch through a window. At home, we had 2 trees damaged and went over 100 hours without power.

ACTION: Chainsaw in hand and 2 young sons helped out Kyle and Amy as they had more extensive tree damage. As part of the Ballard Football team, our high school senior also went around our communities helping out. THIS is why I love being a part of a small community. Ballard Bombers Clean Up

I still made a plea for our industry. We Are Here – Even After a Derecho

Movement towards your goals cannot stop, even when debris lands in your path and your power is blocked.

I have sent 8 letters to our elected officials since March 16th.  John and I began tag teaming emails, too. He would send on one day, and I the next. We did this for about 2 weeks when we received the following news:

OH MY GOODNESS! 100% in the House and 1 out of 2 of our Senators. My head was spinning. The hard work and collaboration with other Iowa companies worked! But….we weren’t done yet. I had a GOAL to get 100% across the board.
