What season is it? Officially, it is fall. Many of you out there wanted to open up the pumpkin spice in August. Not me; I am a die-hard summer fan and cling to it as long as possible. But I do like fall football weather, and celebrations like the Juicy Wiggle bring the energy needed when the sun does not shine as long, and the rain never seems to end.
We are in the 4th quarter of the year. How are you hyping yourself up to finish strong?
Now, this wasn’t no ordinary dance
Hey, man, why is everybody swimmin’ in a trance?

The Iowa State Fair
Woo-woo!
Now, I done just lost my mind
It truly was a great 11 days! In the first quarter, the rains made parking on the fairgrounds a muddy mess, and our services were needed for the record- breaking attendance numbers! A few adjustments later, and a strong finish led us through the rest of the “game”, even with more record-breaking numbers!
Making adjustments is a big part of our playbook. You, our passengers, do not get to sit back, relax, and experience the journey unless we are able to be flexible and punt. Thank you to our team for doing just that!
At the one minute mark, you can see Marcus McIntosh riding the shuttle.

How does the family have fun? John’s brother, Jim, came to help. Jonah didn’t grumble at the 4:30 a.m. wake-up calls and 12-hour days. They are pictured here with driver Susan.

It was especially meaningful to have Gary, one of our veterans, driving on Veterans Day at the Iowa State Fair.
This was in July’s newsletter. – Fuel is dropping! (Crossing my fingers!) –
Unfortunately, not only have prices risen by almost $0.75 in the last 2 weeks, but the Midwest is now higher than all areas of the US except the West Coast/CA. Unbelievable. We know you feel it, too. We monitor the prices weekly. Thank you for your understanding during this time.
Fuel isn’t the only increase being felt by the motorcoach industry.
Yes, we do still take (and like) paper checks here. The world is changing, but processing a check is still the least expensive way to collect money. I am inclined to say the motorcoach industry is part of the statistics from the article linked above.
A little over 150 checks were written per person in 2000. By 2024, the average had plummeted to 27 checks – slightly more than two per month. However, over that time, the amounts typically scribbled or printed on the face of those checks rose.
Fall Things to Do in Greater Des Moines
I have not kept up with saving all the great things for travel in Iowa and beyond. Enjoy the local sporting events, Friday Night Lights, and 3rd quarter celebrations!
Right about now
We really gon’ have some fun (oh, yeah?)
I’m talking ’bout ticklin’ ivory (woo!)
But first, I need some one-fifty-one and a match (woo!)
It’s time to light it up, let’s go now
Woo!

So, when the beat drops, everybody juicy wiggle
Yeah, baby
Woo!
As the sun sets earlier and earlier, do not let the beat drop on you! Get your dance moves on and give us a call! We would love to finish this year strong with you!
Smiles,
Kim Grzywacz
