WELCOME – Latonya Elliott
Latonya started in November as our Safety Manager. She comes to us from the trucking world, specializing in hazmat. She holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership with a minor in Human Resources. She played basketball at Butler Community College and then at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She knows what a good team needs to succeed.
To help get her up to speed with the motorcoach industry, Jeremiah and Latonya attended UMA’s Safety Seminar in Washington, D.C., in early December.
ABA Marketplace in Reno is less than a month away. As co-chairs, Danielle and I have been using our creativity to share important messages. I am sharing 2 here.
1. Do not get stuck in the “ease” of the past. Make updates for improvement. A younger perspective may be needed to connect with your audiences.
2. Set a goal to give of your time and talent through volunteering this year. There are so many opportunities. This article discusses ABA Marketplace, but replace this event with one of your own. Don’t be “Kevin”.
Award season is coming. Perhaps you can give of your time and talent by writing a thoughtful nomination for someone you know is deserving of recognition. It fills my tank to write nominations.
Remember, brokers do not own buses, but appear to have them across the U.S. Bus companies proudly display their branded fleet on their websites. An all white fleet is a reason to be cautious.
