26 May Pay Attention to the Ordinary – It’s Extraordinary
Last month I discussed Impostor Syndrome and how it creeps in to tell us we are not enough. We are weak.
I needed help recently silencing my Impostor. I was feeling very vulnerable and exhausted. I needed to get out of my “head space”. I asked for my music list to be played randomly. This is the song that came up first. It is EXACTLY what I needed. For me, it was God speaking to me.

I will help you through
… Don’t be afraid to fall
I’m right here to catch you
Oh I’m gonna hold you
And I won’t let go
Won’t let you go
No I won’t
I don’t remember the next song, but it was like, “See, I’m still here.” The third song was completely random, but made me dance a little as I finished getting ready for my day.
These are the ordinary moments that are truly extraordinary. Listen for them. They are all around you every day.
SOUL of Iowa was premiered at the Iowa Tourism conference. YES! Our state is being showcased as a destination. I am really excited to share our ordinary with visitors as an extraordinary adventure.
